Toyota of North America wanted to develop a logo to commemorate their 50th anniversary of manufacturing automobiles in the U.S. Their goal was to create an icon that would convey their golden anniversary, tie together all communication elements of their 50th celebration, and also be appropriate for use in day-to-day advertising and marketing communication.
That's when Bluegrass Promotional Marketing and Bluegrass' Value Alliance Partner, the Bisig Impact Group [BIG], moved into the driver's seat.
Competing against Toyota's international advertising agency, [BIG] defined the criteria for a successful "additive graphic" that matched Toyota's objectives, then provided three options from which Toyota could choose - progressive style, a traditional style and a hybrid. In addition, [BIG] developed several slogans that could support the logo developed.
The result?
Toyota selected [BIG]'s "Inget" design because of its strong, unified mark that incorporated the golden anniversary with the global orientation of Toyota's business. This logo, along with the slogan "Driving innovation for 50 years" will be applied to Toyota advertising, collateral and internal signage, as well as apparel, office and vendor merchandising in North America in 2008.
