When Oprah's trainer Bob Greene and his new book The Best Life Diet were going to be featured on her show, Barilla and five other food producers teamed up to sponsor a giveaway bag of goodies for the studio audience. The bags had to meet several very specific parameters, including being large and durable enough to hold a dozen items - ranging from food products to diet journals - and they had to match the color of the book cover perfectly.
To make the project even more interesting, the finished product had to be delivered in only five working days. That's when Barilla recommended the group contact Bluegrass.
Bluegrass quickly connected with its sources and developed a production schedule that would get the bags to Oprah's co-packer prior to the taping of the show. This included building in time for Bob Greene's agent and two of the six food companies to pre-approve the design and specs - all in five working days. Plus, Bluegrass delivered it at a price point that, at first, made Mr. Greene's agent question whether the quality would be appropriate. The result?
Four hundred bags that perfectly matched Bob Greene's arrived in plenty of time to get them distributed prior to the show's taping. Further, the quality was so good and the bags were so well received that all of the other food producers are planning to order more.
